Construction delays have pushed ahead the move-in dates for a Shelburne senior's complex.

Delays have pushed back the move-in time for Harbourside Apartments, Shelburne’s first senior’s apartments.
“The apartments aren’t ready,” said Joan Bower chair of the Shelburne Independent Housing Initiative. “There isn’t anything I can do to make it go faster.”
The housing initiative had to move the original move-in date of October to the first part of February because of construction delays.
Bower is reluctant to announce a date for when the building will be officially allowing renters to move in, in case it changes.
“The rest should go smoothly,” she said. “It was a whole lot of little things…some jobs took longer than expected.”
She said it was difficult for the tenants who expected to move.
“Its hard, most people have been very patient but I know there are a lot of aspects to moving and it is stressful no matter what age you are.”
She said a big step forward was getting power hooked up to the units.
They are waiting on certifications to be approved.
Bower said she would contact all of the tenants as soon as they are firm on a date.
