Premier Stephen McNeil confirmed Nova Scotia is part of The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's three-province tour being planned for May.

"We look forward to welcoming the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to Nova Scotia," said Premier McNeil. "It is an opportunity for a whole new generation of Nova Scotians to meet the royal couple as we showcase our beautiful province to them."

Prince Charles last came to Nova Scotia in 1983 when he visited Shelburne (among other areas) with Princess Diana. This is his first visit with The Duchess of Cornwall. The visit to Canada also includes stops in Prince Edward Island and Manitoba.

Details of the visit will be released at a later date. The program in Nova Scotia will be developed in co-operation with the federal government and representatives for the Prince of Wales.
