64-year-old airlifted to Halifax

A 64-year-old Bridgetown man was airlifted to hospital in Halifax after he was pinned between two trucks on a woods road near Youngs Cove early Monday evening.

RCMP Cpl. Dale Guy said a truck had slid off a woods road. Another truck was able to pull the first truck back onto the road, but when the men were unhooking the two trucks one vehicle slid, pinning the Bridgetown man between the two.

Police received a call at 6:16 p.m. Emergency Health Services and Bridgetown firefighters were also called and when the trucks were pulled apart, the injured man was taken out of the woods on the Bridgetown Volunteer Fire Department’s Gator and was transported to hospital by ambulance. He was later airlifted to hospital in Halifax with serious injuries.

The matter remains under investigation.
