A bird stand from the Cooke Aquaculture site near Coffin Island ended up on the shores of Western Head earlier this week.

A bird stand from the Cooke Aquaculture site near Coffin Island ended up on the shores of Western Head.

The stand was knocked loose by the winter storms that pounded the shores of Nova Scotia.

The site is not stocked at the moment, so their were no escapes.

The bird stand is part of the cage system that holds up the bird net, which goes over the top of the cage. It does not affect the integrity of the fish cage.

Cooke Aquaculture said they would retrieve the stand as soon as the weather permitted.
