Percy Peter’s Port LaTour barn caught fire on Aug. 27, destroying thousands of dollars worth of fishing gear and tools. From childhood friends to complete strangers, it didn’t take long afterwards for local fishermen to start lending a hand, donating gear and their time to help Peters out.

A competitor in the Greased Pole Contest heads for an unwelcome dip in the water during Canada Day celebrations in Lockeport. The annual event is a slippery favourite in the community.

It was another successful season of boat racing in Shelburne County as the sport continued to grow in the area and beyond in 2013.

People were heading downstream during the Barrington River Run in May.  Starting at Clements Pond, canoes and kayaks were paddled a horseshoe shaped course ending at the head of the Barrington River.
