A trough of low pressure over Southern New Brunswick will drift southward to lie over Southwestern Nova Scotia by Sunday morning.
As the trough shifts southward overnight, freezing rain and/or ice pellets are expected to spread over most of the province. The freezing rain and/or ice pellets are expected to persist into late Sunday evening. Currently, it looks like the valley and central areas of Nova Scotia will be the worst hit by the freezing rain. Current indications suggest that these regions could see 12 hours or more of freezing rain and up to 40 millimetres of accumulation.
Southwestern Nova Scotia will see rain begin this evening and continue into Sunday evening producing up to 50 millimetres.
