Life should get somewhat back to normal today after heavy snowfall yesterday closed schools, government offices and businesses across the province.

Roads this morning are the best they’ve been for a couple days.

The snow has stopped, the drifting for the most part too, road crews have had a chance to catch up and warming temps have allowed the roads to start to thaw and clear.

Highway 101 between Exit 24 Bear River and Digby Exit 26 is still snow covered in places but clearing.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of +4ºC under cloudy skies with flurries and rain showers a possibility later today with winds  of 30 kmh gusting to 50.

Sunday is the most interesting day on the forecast currrently – periods of rain are forecast and other models are giving the possibility of freezing rain that day.

Environment Canada is giving a 60 per cent chance of flurries on Christmas Day.
