Two men charged

Trevor Durling, 33, and Matthew Fredericks, 31, both of Annapolis County turned themselves into police and were charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Two men are facing charges related to an assault Saturday.

Ryan Taylor, of Lequille is recovering from a serious head injury as a result of being bashed with the butt of a rifle by two men who had fled the area on a 4 wheeler.

Annapolis RCMP and EHS found Taylor and transported him to Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton. He was treated for serious head injuries and later released with stitches. A police search that evening did not locate the suspects.

On Monday Trevor Durling, 33, and Matthew Fredericks, 31, both of Annapolis County turned themselves into police and were charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Durling is facing two additional charges of breaching conditions of a court recognizance. Both men were lodged in cells until their court appearances Tuesday in Provincial Court in Digby.

Fredericks and Durling were held until their court appearances and released on bail. Both will be back in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court early in the new year.
