Wet weather is on the way. Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Alert for Yarmouth County, with local amounts possibly exceeding 50 millimetres.
Up to 50 millimetres of rain is possible in Yarmouth County over the next 24 hours.
The rain is expected to begin in Southwestern Nova Scotia this afternoon and spread eastward this evening. Rainfall amounts in excess of 50 millimetres are expected along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia with locally higher amounts possible in heaviest showers. Western regions are expected to receive 20 to 40 millimetres of rain, with local amounts possibly exceeding 50 millimetres.
Also, Les Suetes winds will develop overnight over the Cape Breton Highlands ahead of the trough. Wind gusts up to 90 km/h are expected and will persist until noon Thursday.
Rainfall Alerts have also been issued for Shelburne and Queen counties.
