Gerald Keddy, MP South Shore St. Margarets
A new team of parliamentary secretaries have been appointed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament for South Shore-St. Margaret's, has been named Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue and for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. Keddy will be working with Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, the newly-appointed Minister of National Revenue.
“National Revenue is an important portfolio and I look forward to the challenge,” said Keddy.
Keddy will be working on the Government’s financial agenda in the House of Commons and within the Standing Committee on Finance. Other duties as Parliamentary Secretary include answering questions and tabling reports in the House of Commons on behalf of the Minister, and representing the Minister on National Revenue issues.
“Canadians continue to look at the economy as the most important issue for our government,” said Keddy. “An important part of encouraging a strong economy is to continue with a positive, not punitive, corporate and personal income tax system. I look forward to working with Minister Findlay on this integral part of our continued economic recovery.”
Keddy previously served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade, and to the Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
