The Snowbirds, Canada’s precision aerobatic team
Although the CF-18 demonstration team managed to slip through a weather window to land at the Yarmouth airport on Thursday and the SkyHawks parachute team have arrived for this weekend's air show, other winged guests are still awaiting permissable flying conditions. That includes the Snowbirds 431 demonstration squadron.
Event co-chair Linda Deveau says they are coping with the WOW factor at the moment: Waiting on Weather.
"There are several varying weather reports. Some say it's clearing at noon, another says at 5 p.m. At this point in time we do have our gates open and people are certainly welcome to come onto the grounds. Our concessions and exhibitors are set up but there is no aviation static line at this time. We are still awaiting arrival of some of our performers."
Gates are open today (Saturday) until 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Sunday's forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 18 with 20 km./hr. winds.
Walk-ins are $5/day, children under five are free. Private vehicles (up to seven seats) are $25 inc. passengers.
