RCMP investigating attempted armed robbery of cab driver in New Minas

Kings District R.C.M.P. responded to an armed robbery on January 14th, 2013 around 11 p.m. of a Valley Cab taxi in New Minas.  

The taxi had a been prearranged for a pick up of a passenger at 8789 Commercial Street, New Minas. At the location, a lone male entered the taxi, and with a long gun and wearing a ski mask, demanded the driver drive away. The taxi driver refused and the suspect fled from the taxi.  

The R.C.M.P. are asking anyone with information regarding this robbery to contact any R.C.M.P. office or to report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or through the secure web site at www.crimestoppers.ca. An arrest and charges based on the tip may result in a cash award.
