Two drunk drivers were arrested over the weekend in Kings County.

On Jan. 12, Kings District RCMP were called to a drinking establishment in Coldbrook, where a 43-year-old male driver had struck another parked vehicle when attempting to back his truck out of a parking space.

The male driver failed the breath sample by more than twice the legal limit. He will appear in court Feb. 25 on charges of impaired operation.

Druing a check stop, the RCMP nabbed a second impaired driver on Main Street, Wolfville, at 12:28 a.m. on Jan. 13. The 25-year-old New Minas man was observed driving with an open glass of beer and failed the roadside test. He then refused to provide a breath sample.

The man assaulted a police officer during the incident.

He is now charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, refusing to provide a breath sample, assault on a police officer and illegal possession of liquor. He's expected to appear in Kentville court on March 4.
