POSTED OCT. 3, 3:20 p.m.: The RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit is releasing new photos of Wayne Alan Cunningham to aid in police efforts to locate him.

The RCMP continue to work with other law-enforcement partners in an effort to locate Cunningham. His whereabouts are unknown at this time.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, the Greenstone Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police located the 2003 Hyundai Elantra abandoned on a logging road, approximately 19kms off the highway in Long Lac Ontario District. The Nova Scotia plates were on the vehicle at the time it was located.

RCMP investigators continue to liaise with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to arrange for transportation of David James Leblanc back to Nova Scotia. Leblanc remains in hospital under police custody. For medical reasons, he is unable to fly at this time.

The two men charged with forcible confinement and sexual assault following a recent incident in Upper Chelsea. Lunenburg County involving a teenage boy. A preliminary investigation has determined a 16-year-old male victim was held against his will for a period of 10 to 14 days.

The boy managed to escape and sought help. He was reported to be in chains when he approached residences in the area seeking help
