Three adults escaped a North Kentville house fire around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Kentville deputy fire Chief Ryan MacEachern said the blaze at 1148 McKittrick
Road took about an hour to put out, with mutual aid from Waterville, Port Williams and New Minas.
Sunday morning, toys, a large television and a number of vehicles were in the yard under the watchful eye of a security guard. One window was smashed out and curtains on a picture window were blackened.
MacEachern said the fire marshal would be at the rental property Sept. 2 to try to determine a cause. The extent of damage is “hard to tell until we get in there,” he added.
According to the Red Cross, seven people lived in the rental property.
