Pumped dry in Grand Pre

Grand Pre’s Irving station was all out of fuel July 29.

Heading into the long weekend there was a shortage of gas in several parts of the province related to a lightening strike earlier in the month at the Imperial Oil refinery in Dartmouth. The Imperial refinery supplies a number of companies with fuel.

An Irving officials could not confirm the connection between the refinery outage and Grand Pre's dry tanks July 29.
