FOWLER, Alice Rita - 79, Tillsonburg, Ont., formerly of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully in Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 17, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife and best friend of 48 years to her husband, Neville; devoted mother to Paul Fowler and his partner Kent Staines of Toronto; Marlene Sweett and her husband Stephen of Oakville, Ont.; Catherine Yates and her husband Andrew of Calgary; Shawn Fowler and his wife Linda of Red Deer; doting "Nana" to Benjamin, Hannah, Alexander, Aidan and Taylor. She is survived by her siblings, Isabelle Sweeney, Lucie Schrader, Lionel Muise and Anita Banks. She was predeceased by her parents, Laurence and Emily Muise; brothers, Gordon and Gerald Muise; sister, Celeste Muise. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the thoughts, prayers, cards, calls and visits from her friends and family throughout the country during her illness. Remains rested in Sweeny's Funeral Home, 567 Main St., Yarmouth. Visiting hours took place Thursday, August 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. in the chapel. Funeral mass was held Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m. in St. Ambrose Cathedral, 43 Albert St., Yarmouth, with Father John MacPherson officiating. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Forest Street, Yarmouth. Donations can be made to the Marians of the Immaculate Conception.
