June 15 to June 21, 2008

 - LAKE, Douglas Ivan  - 76, Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Summerville, he was the son of the late Embert Sr. and Martha (Mosher) Lake. Doug loved music, especially country and bluegrass. He enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals. He also loved to play guitar. He worked for Fundy Gypsum Co., then Avon Valley Greenhouses and as a capenter until retiring. Doug enjoyed fishing, family and friends, as well as a good cup of tea. Doug was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Mary Shaw; sons, Paul (Roxann), Falmouth; Terry (Tanya), Martock; Jimmy (Heather), Falmouth; Kevin (Barbie), Falmouth; and Bobby (Tracy), Falmouth; grandchildren, Kelly (Richard), Sherry, Courtney, Chris, Kristie, Matthew, Meghan, Katie, Lauren, Andrew, Emilee and Hailey; great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Kaden; sister, Lorna Spencer, Summerville; brother, Prescott Lake, Falmouth; several nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by sisters, Geraldine Ross and Mary Smith; brothers, Coleman, Embert Jr. “Bud”, George, Stanley Lake and Chessley Card. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lohnes Funeral Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, in Lohnes Funeral Service Chapel. Interment took place in Centre Falmouth Cemetery. Reception followed at 87 Gabriel Rd., Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doug may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6. Private messages of condolence may be made in the
