Poor weather conditions and icy roads continued to result in a higher than usual number of traffic accidents last week. Police ask the public to use caution and drive according to weather and road conditions.

The Annapolis RCMP responded to 69 calls during the week of February 1 through February 8. Among these were: four false alarms, three false 911s, and 10 traffic accidents. There were no domestic assaults reported this week.

Following are highlights of the calls: (Note: Calls involving sensitive issues such as mental illness, children's welfare, and sexual assault are not considered appropriate for publication.) -February 1 at 12:18 p.m. Police were called to a disturbance at a public building in Middleton. A patrol was made and determined there was a breech of peace. -February 1 at 11:10 p.m. Police were called to Bridgetown in response to a break and enter and and breech of peace in progress. A patrol was made and determined that no criminal activity had taken place. -February 2 at 12 a.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident near Bridgetown. A driver struck a deer that had darted out of the woods. -February 2 at 10:34 a.m. Police were called to a traffic accident on the 101 Highway. The driver of an SUV lost control on icy roads. No injuries were reported. -February 2 at 12 p.m. Police were called to a traffic accident in Lawrencetown. An eastbound vehicle fishtailed and went off the road trying to avoid a delivery truck that appeared to be travelling on the wrong side of the road. -February 2 at 1:27 p.m. A Granville Ferry caller reported a theft under $5,000 when a radiator and batteries were stolen. -February 2 at 6 p.m. A break and enter was reported into a Nictuax residence. Money and miscellaneous items were stolen. -February 2 at 11:40 p.m. A disturbance was reported in Meadowvale. Someone was playing loud music. -February 3 at 11:59 a.m. A school bus violation was reported in Nictaux. -February 3 at 3:15 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Upper Clements. -February 3 at 4:55 p.m. Police were called to a two-vehicle accident in Nictaux between a half-ton truck and an SUV. One driver is facing charges. -February 3 at 9:29 p.m. A caller reported snowmobilers for using excessive speed on the trail in Paradise. -February 3 at 11:22 p.m. A caller reported snowmobilers were using excessive speed on the trail in Paradise. -February 4 at 7:16 a.m. A complaint of theft under $5,000 was reported after someone took a green Craftsman snowblower that was needed to clear off a wheelchair ramp. -February 4 at 10:21 a.m. An attempted break and enter into a Middleton business was reported. No entry was gained. -February 4 at 3;25 p.m. A Middleton caller reported a complaint of mischief after someone fired a pellet gun at a window. -February 4 at 4:57 p.m. An impaired driver was reported to be passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked on the Vault Road. One male was arrested, held in custody, and charged. -February 4 at 6:11 p.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident in Belleisle. Icy roads were a factor. -February 4 at 7 p.m. A caller reported that an abandoned vehicle at the Springfield fire department had been set on fire. -February 5 at 9:21 a.m. Police were called to a two-vehicle accident in Youngs Cove. -February 5 at 10:42 Police were called to Lawrencetown in response to an assault. One 53-year-old Annapolis County man is facing charges. -February 5 at 10:49 a.m. A caller reported that gravel trucks were speeding in Forest Glade. -February 5 at 10:58 a.m. Police were called in response to an assault in Middleton between parties known to each other. A patrol determined there was a breech of peace. -February 5 at 11: 08 a.m. A complaint of theft under $5,000 was reported in Hampton. -February 5 at 6:26 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious person after seeing a man carrying a hubcap under his arm outside a Middleton business. Police determined the individual had a flat tire earlier that day and had returned to pick up the lost hubcap. -February 5 at 9:13 p.m. A caller reported mischief in Middleton. Several intoxicated people were causing a disturbance, trying to get into a residence. -February 5 at 9:46 p.m. A caller reported that several intoxicated young people were fighting at a party in Meadowvale. The party organizers were cautioned. -February 6 at 10:26 p.m. A caller reported a possible impaired driver on the 101 Highway. A patrol was made and determined the driver was tired, not intoxicated. -February 7 at 12:10 a.m. Police were called to a loud party in Wilmot. -February 7 at 6:56 p.m. Police were called to a single-vehicle accident in Granville Ferry. -February 7 at 7:13 p.m. Police were called to a single-vehicle accident in Brickton. here were no injuries reported. -February 7 at 7:45 p.m. A caller reported that two cars were in the ditch near Bridgetown.
