Family company says Yarmouth purchase an excellent fit

Bruce Automotive Group Inc. of Middleton has reached an agreement to purchase Southwest Honda of Yarmouth, the company said Tuesday. The new addition to the Bruce family will operate as Bruce Honda serving the local market from its modern dealership at 166 Starrs Road in Yarmouth. “We are very excited with the addition of Bruce Honda,” said Justin Barker, president of Bruce Automotive Group Inc. “Over the past five years we have seen significant growth in our General Motors dealership in Middleton and look forward to entering the Yarmouth market with our new Honda dealership.” “Our team in Yarmouth, which includes our managing partner Robert Thibault and general sales manager Derek Boudreau, is an excellent fit and will strengthen our commitment to the local community enhancing our fundamental belief of customers for life.”

The Bruce Automotive Group Inc. operates Bruce Chevrolet Pontiac Buick GMC Limited in Middleton as well as Bruce Honda in Yarmouth with 61 full-time employees.

It was recently named ‘2009 Best Place to Work in Atlantic Canada’ by Atlantic

Progress Magazine – an honour it has held for seven consecutive years. In 2009 Bruce GM was the recipient of the prestigious General Motors President’s Triple Crown Award for overall sales, service, and customer satisfaction.
