The Shelburne RCMP are investigating a complaint of a suspicious male driving a dark colored minivan who approached a 12-year-old boy in Sable River on Saturday, June 20.

The incident occurred around 9 a.m. The boy was walking in the community along Highway 103 when the van stopped and the man offered the boy a drive. The boy declined and the man drove away eastbound without incident.

The driver is described as a white male with short grey hair, grey moustache and grey beard, who appeared to be 50 to 60 years old.

The minivan, possible a Honda or Dodge make, is either black or dark blue with tinted side windows.

A vehicle and male of similar description was noticed again in Sable River at about 1 p.m. the same day. The vehicle was parked for about 15 minutes near Exit 23 before driving away again eastbound on Highway 103.

Shelburne RCMP is asking the public to be vigilant and report any similar occurrences to the Shelburne detachment or the nearest police department.
