RCMP Annapolis Valley Traffic Services conducted a seatbelt blitz in New Minas Nov. 24 that caught 63 seatbelt violaters - in just four hours.

That could have easily been more, as officers could not write tickets fast enough to keep up with people who made it by the blitz without being stopped.

Two illegal use of cellphones, along with two no insurance, violations were also issued during the blitz.

Traffic Services will continue in its efforts to reduce serious injury crashes by ensuring drivers and passengers wear seatbelts.
