A Burlington teen has succumbed to injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash in Upper Burlington Thursday evening.
RCMP Traffic Services is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13 on North River Road, Upper Burlington.
RCMP Traffic Services have identified the deceased as Brandon Weatherbee, 15. Weatherbee was a passenger of the vehicle that left the North River Road and struck a utility pole. He passed away in hospital in Halifax.
At the time in question, the westbound passenger car travelling on North River Road left the road and struck a power pole. The 16-year-old male driver and Weatherbee both had to be extracted from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life.
Weatherbee was transported to the QEII Hospital in Halifax via lifeline helicopter with serious injuries. The driver initially transported to Hants Community Hospital, but was then transported to the QEII Hospital in via lifeline helicopter with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remains in the QEII hospital in serious condition.
The investigation continues to determine the cause of the crash.
