ATV problems continue

Letter to the Yarmouth Vanguard

For the third time in four years ATV riders have torn down my NO ATV signs and violated our property. This time to make sure I could not put them right up again they have hauled away the signs with posts included. I presume as some good old boy trophy.

The fact that they stole the NO ATV signs was bad enough but one post also had the road name on it so they have left us vulnerable to being unprotected by emergency services.

When is our government going to stop kowtowing to these barbarian hooligans and protect the rights of tax paying land owners who are the backbone of this province? The laws passed last year were softened this spring even though no one was paying any attention to them. ATV riders still ride on all roads including 100 series highways and ride over any property they choose to destroy. Rules are nice but as no one is out there enforcing them they are not worth the paper they were written on.
