A male that was driving by with his window down happened to hear the man’s cries for help. Attempts by locals to use a canoe to save the male were futile due to high winds and rough waters.

Department of Fisheries and Oceans using one of their water crafts rescued the man and recovered his boat. An ambulance took the man to the local hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
