Tea days

Aug. 23

Weymouth from 3-5 p.m. at the Weymouth Historical Society Building, sponsored by the Weymouth Garden Society.

Admiral museum events

Fridays

The Admiral Digby Museum holds the following event free of charge on Friday afternoons from 1-2:30 p.m. Registration is required: Aug. 24, story time with Brandon, ages 4-6; Aug. 31, building a family tree, ages five and up.

Breakfast

Aug. 25

A goodwill breakfast will be held Aug. 25 from 7:30–9 a.m. at the Free Masons Hall at the corner of King and Mount streets. Everyone welcome.

Supper

Aug. 26

A turkey supper will be held Aug. 26 from 3–7 p.m. at Saint Theresa’s Church, Southville.

Arts ensemble

Aug. 26

Arts Ensemble/Arts Together will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mavillette Beach Provincial Park, Digby County. The "Conseil des Arts de la Baie" invites artists of all disciplines to create art in the park. Bring supplies and equipment. There will be a "Meet and Greet" at 9:00 a.m. at artist Jennie Morrow's house, (902) 645-3308, with coffee and muffins and a "Meet and Share" at 4 p.m. Come and enjoy the day either as a participant or as an onlooker. Reservation needed for the "Meet and Greet". No fees will be charged for this event. Rain date is Aug. 27. Contact Nora at (902)769-2114, ext 262, for more information.

Tea days

Aug. 30

Tea days in Weymouth will be held Aug. 30 from 3–5 p.m. at the Weymouth Historical Society Building. Sponsored by Les Colobelles.

Coach needed

Head Coach Position – Midget Minor AAA Nova Region. Applications for 2008 season can be submitted by Aug. 30 to P.O. Box 2440, Wolfville, N.S. B4P 2S3.

Dinner

Sept. 14

A veterans and wives dinner will be held Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fishers Galley, Digby. For information call Vaughn Adams 245-2388.

GED preparation

The Digby Community Education Centre is offering GED preparation beginning in September. If you are interested in getting your GED

Diploma call Sheri McBride at 245 7533.

Mondays

7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bear River Branch 22.

Support group

Chronic Pain Support Group is in place within the community. Call 245-2623 or 638-3096.

Anxiety management group

Starting mid-September

If you are interested in attending this group, contact the Digby Mental Health Centre at 245-4709 and ask for Julie Wong or Stephany Morine.

Exhibit

Until September

The Scallop Palette Gallery is showing an exhibit of works by local artists until Sept. 12. The gallery is located at the Digby General Hospital.
