During the first weekend in August the regional roving unit was out and caught eight drivers who’d been drinking in Kings County.
Four charges were laid and two 24-hour suspensions were handed out during checkpoints in Greenwich and Coldbrook.

Two young males have been charged with assault with a weapon following the rumble in Coldbrook in early July.
The pair will be appearing in court in October.

There were 251 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between July 31 and Aug. 7.
More than $25,000 worth of tools were stolen Aug. 1 from a construction site in Blue Mountain overnight. They were all branded with the words ‘service trailer.’
Someone was trespassing when they pitched a tent overnight off the Stewart Mountain Road near Blomidon.
A Coldbrook business was broken into.
A Halifax area couple spent the night with the mosquitos at Cape Split after getting lost July 31. They were in touch by cell phone with police.
Dogs were running loose on the Brow Mountain Road at 9:20 a.m.
There was a theft from a New Minas business, and then youth were reported looking into vehicles on Commercial Street.
Vandalism was reported from Main Street, Kingston.
Solar lights were stolen from Park Street, Waterville.
Someone keyed a vehicle parked in the Wal-mart parking lot in New Minas.
There was a hit and run collision in Aldershot at 11:34 p.m.
A loud party was reported from Scott Drive in New Minas and one on Parkside Drive in Kingston.
At 3:26 a.m. on Aug. 2 someone was sleeping at an ATM machine in New Minas.
A car was reported damaged at 6:21 a.m. in Medford and another one at Nosco Court in north Kentville.
Someone had a tent pitched in Lockhart-Ryan Park in New Minas and was cooking breakfast at 9:40 a.m.
A driver failed to pay for $39 worth of gas in Coldbrook.
There was an assault on Mee Road in north Kentville at 11:33 a.m. and later one in Canning.
Police assisted EHS with an elderly patient in Avonport.
Two males were reported taking down road signs in Berwick.
Police were asked to looking into fires at a party spot near the Kentville Ravine.
There was an ATV complaint in East Dalhousie.
A possible liquor offense in a field in Kingston was reported at 7:24 p.m.
There was a fight outside a business in New Minas.
A driver reported for erratic operation of a vehicle on Highway 101 was located by police about 10:15 p.m.
There was a loud party on Bay Street in Wolfville.
Police assisted DNR staff Aug. 3 evicting campers from the park at Blomidon.
A party with liquor involved was reported from Hall’s Harbour.
A door was vandalized at Acadia University in Wolfville.
Cash from stolen from a box at the Randall House Museum in Wolfville.
Youth were loitering around the park in Greenwood at 1:45 p.m. Later a fight was reported outside a business in the same village.
A vehicle was stolen in Aylesford and a bike taken in Windermere.
A motorcycle was stolen in Greenwood.
A window was smashed in a vehicle in New Minas.
At 8 p.m. police were called to arrest a man who’d threatened others with an axe near Lake Paul. He was placed in a cell.
There was a loud party on Marie Crescent in north Kentville early on Aug. 4.
A truck was stolen in Canning and later another vehicle was reported stolen.
A fraudulent cheque was passed in Somerset.
A vehicle that had been stolen in Moncton was found abandoned in Port Williams.
A house in Aldershot suffered a broken window.
A trailer was stolen from outside a business in New Minas.
A vehicle hydroplaned onto a lawn on the Steadman Road in north Kentville about 6:50 p.m.
Motorcycles were racing on Highway 101 near Berwick at 10:50 p.m.
A camera was reported stolen in Windermere.
Youth out despite a curfew were apprehended in New Minas.
Police are investigating an incident of littering in Greenwich reported on Aug. 5.
At 2:10 a.m. a man was arrested after a Wolfville assault and lodged in a cell.
A residence in Weston was broken into.
A license plate, B2T 633, was stolen in Coldbrook. According to Sgt. Holland, gas thieves are taking plates to mask gas-and-go incidents.
A license plate, T29 2204, was taken off a trailer in Pereau.
There was an assault at a residence on Pleasant Street in Wolfville.
An unwanted person was reported from a residence in Chipman’s Corner.
There was a drug complaint in Canning.
Youth on bikes were reported on Highway 101 near Grand Pre about 3:30 p.m. and later a group of motorcycles driving erratically on Highway 101 were stopped near Berwick.
A driver hit another vehicle parked on Memory Lane in New Minas.
Some property damage was reported in Berwick.
There was a loud party reported shaking things in an apartment building on Scott Drive in north Kentville about 7:53 p.m.
Flares observed near Aldershot around 9:41 p.m. were from night exercises at Camp Aldershot and again early the following morning.
Several arrests were made following a fight in Greenwood just after midnight on Aug. 6.
There was a theft from a work site in Grand Pre.
An Arctic Cat ATV was stolen from a shed on the Black Rock Road.
An assault was reported in Gaspereau.
Another vehicle was stolen from Canning.
A drunk man was reported on Crescent Avenue in New Minas about 12:24 p.m.
A break-in is being investigated on the Rockwell Mountain Road.
Check points were held in New Minas on Aalders Avenue, along with others in Coldbrook and Centreville. Several tickets were issued.
A drunk was locked up after being reported from north Kentville.
A theft occurred on Commercial Street in New Minas.
Someone stole oil from a tank in Greenwich.
A bike was found in Greenwich.
There was a theft on the New Canaan Road.
Some vandalism was reported on Bridge Street in Kingston.
On Aug. 7 a rock was used to break a window on Gracie Drive in north Kentville.
Property damage was reported in Black Rock.
Some tools were stolen from Dale Street in Wolfville.
A Kingston business had a water pump and air compressor stolen.
There were 19 domestic incidents, including one assault and arrest, and one mental health call. Police were also called to assist EHS with two elderly residents and at one medical emergency.
There were minor collisions in Aylesford, Greenwood, New Minas, Greenfield, Kingston, north Kentville and Cambridge. One impaired driver was stopped in New Minas and one driver was caught driving in Weston while suspended. The vehicle was towed.
There were 53 false 911 calls largely due to lightening, according to Sgt. Mike Holland. There were 16 false business alarms and six false residential alarms.
A number of reports of threats and harassment also came in, as well as sightings of suspicious people and vehicles. Cst. Holland says police appreciate an opportunity to investigate anything suspicious.
