Palliative Care Training

1-on-1 Computer Tutorials

January (All Month) Free basic computer tutorials at the Annapolis Royal Library. Register for a session by calling the library during open hours, 532-2226.

Lunchtime Snowshoe Club

January Meet at the French Basin Trail on Wednesdays around 12:15 p.m. and go snowshoeing as part of your lunch break. Bring your own snowshoes or borrow a pair of ours. Every Wednesday until March 27, weather permitting. For More information call Brian at 532-3144

Stability Ball class

January 24 Come stay in shape this winter. Get out your stability ball or use one of ours. For people of all ages. Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in Lawrencetown at the Lawrencetown Education Centre, starting January 24. For more information or to register call Brian, 532-3144.

Family Literacy Day

January 25 The Annapolis Royal Library invites children and their caregivers to our Family Literacy Day celebration. Friday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. Stories, activities, refreshments and prizes!

Think Rink

January 25 Paradise Baptist Family Night: Think: “Rink.” (Please note the date change.) Lace up your skates and meet us at the Lawrencetown Exhibition Youth Arena. Community Lunches

January 25 The Women’s Place Resource Centre in Bridgetown is hosting community lunches the last Friday of each month. Our first community lunch will be Friday, Jan. 25 at 11:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Judith Swift from the Diabetes Society. All are welcome to attend. Free transportation can be arranged. Foresters' Meeting

Cribbage tournament

Food bank drive

January 26 Bridgetown Beavers and Cub groups will conduct a Food Bank Drive from 9 am to 12, noon on Granville St. (east and west) and Centennial Dr. For more info, contact Sally at 665-2589.

Roast pork supper

January 27 Middleton & District Lions Club will serve a Roast Pork Supper at their hall in Nictaux, 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Adults; $8; children (under 12) $5. Take out available by calling 825-4374, (pick up only).This is a wheelchair accessible facility.

Nature Walk

January 27 Weather permitting, there will be a nature walk hosted by the Torbrook Mines Community Center on the January 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information call Monica Crocker at 765-4675.

Free Throw Championships

January 27 Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Youth Free Throw Championship. All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 from Lawrencetown to Berwick are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2008 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held January 27 at 2 p.m. at the Pine Ridge Middle School in Kingston. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.. Refreshments will be provided. Proof of age is required. Soup Luncheon

January 29 A Soup Luncheon, sponsored by the Middleton Fire Flies, will be held January 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middleton Fire Hall.Menu: Corn chowder, split pea and ham soup, hamburger soup, turkey vegetable soup, chocolate cake, pineapple angel food cake, tea or coffee. For Middleton deliveries leave a message at 825-3062.

BRES SAC meets

January 30 Bridgetown Regional Elementary School Advisory Council will be meeting at 5:45 p.m. in the school library on Wednesday, Jan. 30. All parents and community members welcome.

CAPS meeting

January 30 The regular monthly board meeting of Companion Animal Protection Society will start at 7 pm in the Lawrencetown Municipal Building. All members and friends of CAPS are invited. In case of inclement weather, call 825-2343.

Stability Ball Class

Benefit Concert

February 1 A Benefit concert for MRHS New Gym And Music Room will be held Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in MRHS Gymnasium. Free Will Offering. Annapolis Big Band, Janice Sheridan, Road Apples Blues Band and more.

Benefit supper

February 2 Benefit Supper for Alexandria Roop at the Middleton Fire Hall, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a Roast Beef Dinner and dessert. Free will offering. Alexandria is an 8 year old girl who has Lymphoma and requires aggressive treatment in Halifax.

DJ dance

Community meeting

Jam Session

February 5 All Saints’ ACW will be holding their Annual Shrove Tuesday Supper at All Saints’ Church Hall, Pleasant Street, Kingston, Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Menu: Ham, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, pancakes and gingerbread. Sweetheart’s Night

February 16 Sweetheart’s Night will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Paradise Hall, Paradise. Tickets $20. Live performance by B’town Blues Band. Dessert auction.
