Another oil tanker off the road

In less than three weeks a second oil tanker truck went off a country road, landing on its side.

The Eel Brook & District fire department was paged out at 2:51 p.m. on Wednesday to 803 Bellville Rd. and within 20 minutes requested the YFD Haz Mat unit to respond.

There were no spills and only a slight injury to the driver. Two holes were dug, portable pumps set up to remove water running in the ditch, fuel was removed and the vehicle pulled up on the road. Crews were on the scene until 2:06 a.m.

APOLOGY

Last week we wrote about the driver's course and listed the three instructors: Assistant Deputy Blair Deveau, Platoon Chief Lynn Seeley and Captain Peter Poirier. Our mistake with the last name as it was Captain Peter Winship who helped with the instruction. Sorry, Peter W.

VETERANS IN HALIFAX HOSPITAL

Sorry to report that Reliance veteran Art Spears and Neptune veteran Camille Saulnier have both been hospitalized in Halifax for test and treatments. Our best wishes for a speedy return to good health.
