Buckler Exhibit

Until August 31 Ernest Buckler exhibit, Macdonald Museum in Middleton, until August 31, celebrates the 100th birthday of this esteemed Valley author with a display of photos and memorabilia including Mr. Buckler's desk, his typewriter, his university degree hoods, and lots more. The museum also has a small display of Loyalist (reproduction) costumes in commemoration of the 225th anniversary of the Loyalists in Nova Scotia.

Comedy show

July 31 Come to the Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Show at the Annapolis Royal Fire Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets ($20) available by calling 532-3144.

Public Hampton Lighthouse Visits

August 2 Starting August 2 until September 14, the Hampton Lighthouse will be open for public visits from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays only.

Brickton Clay Day

August 2 Come to the Brickton Clay Day on August 2 at 2 p.m. at The Brickton Community Hall. Fun for all, games, displays, clay creations by you, pie eating and seed spitting contests, live music by Garnet Banks & 3 Old Friends, Valley Blue plus others. A special appearance by George "the brick layer." All followed by a Cold Plate supper in the hall. Come and celebrate our heritage. For more info please call 765-6821.

Summer Yard Sale

August 2 A Summer Yard Sale will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again on Monday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Granville Beach Church Yard. Household items and bake table. Sponsored by Granville Beach Sewing Circle. Proceeds for Church Hall.

Show & Tea

August 2 The Wilmot Garden Club’s “Show and Tea” at the Baptist Church, Middleton from 2:30 to 4:30. Open to the public.

Flea market

August 2 at the Middleton Train Station from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pool party

August 2 Teen pool party at the Annapolis pool from 7-10 p..m. for ages 13 to 18. Enjoy music, snacks and swimming, cost is $3.

Breakfast

August 3 Buffet Breakfast at the Port George Rec Hall from 8 to 10 a.m.

Natal Day Bingo

August 3 Natal Day Bingo, all cash prizes, at the Annapolis Royal Legion Community Center, doors open at 1:15 p.m. with Bingo starting at 2 p.m. (NOT 3 p.m. as previously advertised).

Grand opening

August 3 Of the Annapolis Pool from 2 to 4 p.m. Starts with the ribbon cutting, followed by cake and ice cream and free swimming, and Bubbles the Clown will be there.

Bible school

August 4-8 The DDVS Program at the Margaretsville Baptist Church will run daily, 9:30-11:30, for ages 4 to 8. Held by the Genesis Christian Missionaries. Contact Deanna for more info at 825-6856.

Bridgetown Market

August 5 Bridgetown Market is held every Tuesday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at 160 South Street, over the bridge in Bridgetown. Spaces are free. Everyone welcome. Call Lewis 665-2029.

Wednesday Market in AR

August 6 Annapolis Royal Farm Market every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in July and August. Enjoy shopping in a relaxed atmosphere.

Trask reunion

Indoor Yard Sale

August 9 An Indoor Yard Sale will be held August 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lots and lots of items plus furniture. Canteen also available -- hot dogs, muffins, tea coffee etc. To be held at the Wilmot Baptist Church Christian Fellowship Centre, corner of Dodge Road and Highway 1.

Benefit show

August 9 For Linda & Rick Medicraft at the Brickton Hall, 7:30 p.m. Music by Ernie Marshall, Valley Blue, Aubrey Whitman, Murray Fralic, and “Lo-Rita”. Also Chinese Auction, 50/50 tickets & door prizes. Free will admission.

Coffee House

August 9 Bear Rhythm is sponsoring a Coffee House at Oakdene Centre featuring “Tumbleweed”, artists in Gospel, Texas swing, electric and country, at 7:30 p.m.

Musical evening

August 9 Fundy Choral presents “Between Friends” concert at 7 p.m., Digby Baptist Church.

Lion’s breakfast

August 9 The Bridgetown Lion’s Breakfast will be held on August 9 (not Aug. 2) from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at their Hall on Church St. Enjoy an omelette with all the good stuff, free will offering.

Claymation Camps

August 11 to 15 Claymation Camp for children age 10 to 14 will be offered at the Bridgetown C@P Site at the Bridgetown Development Centre, Room 110. Camp runs from 10 a.m. to noon. For information Contact Karen at 665-4231 or email info@bridgetowncap.com.

Loyalist Celebration

August 13 at the Macdonald Museum on School St., Middleton from 2 to 4 p.m. Enjoy food and musical entertainment, free will offering.

Halifax Buskers Bus Trip

August 14 For ages 55+, $35/person. Motorcoach departs at 9 a.m. and returns at 10 p.m. Contact Grant at Annapolis Royal Recreation to register, 532-7667.
