To the Editor:
I was traveling with a friend from the Bridgetown area to Halifax April 2 when I became ill. We ended up in the parking area of the McDonald's in Windsor.
A staff member came out and asked if there was anything they could for us. She helped me to come into the building and the staff was so kind and thoughtful, looking after me. The customers at McDonald's were also kind, asking if I needed help. One, a nurse, helped me to a vehicle so I could go to the hospital.
The staff at the emergency ward couldn't have been greater. I was seen quickly and with great kindness. To top it all off, there were a number of teenagers there who showed great concern and asked my friend if there was anything they could do to help.
Despite the trauma I went through, it brings tears to my eyes to think of how wonderful and thoughtful everyone was; all strangers to me and my friend.
I’ve always felt the town of Windsor had a lot going for it, but now I realize that what Windsor has going for it the most is the people. Thank you, everyone, I'll never forget your kindness.
