Pre-registration deadline July 25

Annapolis County's 35th annaul Family Fun Run is coming up.

It’s almost time for the Annapolis County Fun Run in Annapolis Royal and this year marks the 35th installment of this popular annual event. This year’s Fun Run will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 and is already shaping up to be another fun run to remember, says Annapolis County Recreation’s Brian Orde.

The same route will be used as the past few years with participants starting and finishing the run at the municipal building at 752 St. George Street. For more information, as well as a detailed route description, and map please visit the website at www.annapoliscounty.ns.ca.

The fun run is always well attended and makes for a great event for the whole family, said Orde.  There will be prizes for runners of all ages and abilities as well as refreshments after the race. He said to bring the family and make sure to stick around after the run.

The run begins at 9:30 a.m. sharp so pre-register early to avoid the rush.  Registration forms can be downloaded from the website at www.annapoliscounty.ns.ca.  Completed forms can be mailed, faxed, emailed, or delivered to the municipal building or you can drop by and register in person with the recreation staff.

There will be very limited run-day registration from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.; as such Orde strongly recommends pre-registering in order to beat the rush.  Pre-registration cut-off is July 25. The first 100 people to pre-register by July 25 will receive a free water bottle. The fee of $5 for the race is due at the time of registration and is payable to County of Annapolis. The route is approximately 3.8 kilometres long and you can make it as competitive as you like, just remember the important thing is to have fun, said Orde.

For more information please call Janice at 532-2334. Remember to pre-register by July 25.
