There was a lot of big rig action along Water Street in Digby as the upcoming Lobster Bash hosted the load truck drags and bobtail drags.

Big 18 wheelers competed against each other in side by side action with crowds watching and cheering from both sides of the street.

Lobster Bash Association president Phil Robertson said South Shore in Motion  has organized an event in Bridgewater for the last 10 years that featured truck pulls, show-and-shines, lawn tractor racing and off-highway vehicle competitions.

This year, when the society wanted to add the truck drags, Bridgewater town council turned down the idea of closing a street for the competition.

Organizers then approached Lobster Bash about hosting the event, and Digby council okayed the use of Water Street from the tourist bureau to the ReMax building.

Lobster Bash takes place this weekend, July 4-6.
