Middleton Antique Car Show goes ahead despite the wet weather

While the threat of rain may have kept some of the potential entries at home, Middleton’s sixth annual Antique Car Show attracted almost 30 vehicles and a continuous flow of spectators from early in the morning until well into the afternoon.

The numbers were down from last year when more than 100 cars were in attendance, but drivers came this year despite the rain and from as far away as Barrington Passage .

This year’s show was run by the Middleton Lions club. With sponsorships and proceeds from a 50/50 draw, raffles, and donations on the day, the club raised more than $1,200 which will be used for Lions Club Community Support and Projects. That includes such things as eyeglasses and hearing aids for seniors, and heating oil and food baskets for families in need.

Winners of the car show were:

-- Peoples Choice Award chosen by the crowd and sponsored By MacDonald Chisholm Trask Insurance: Ivan Armstrong Car #11 1969 Ford Mustang.

-- Best In Show chosen by the drivers and sponsored by Valley Flax Flour: Ivan Armstrong Car #11 1969 Ford Mustang.

-- Mayor’s Choice Chosen by Middleton Mayor Calvin Eddy and sponsored by the Town Of Middleton: Bobby Balcom 1934 for Coupe

Organizations: Lions Club Community Support, MacDonald Chisholm Trask Insurance
