Don't have a general fishing licence? No problem. Nova Scotians can fish without a licence for one weekend in June.
"Whether you're a seasoned fishing enthusiast or it's the first time you put your line in the water, I encourage people to come out June 7 and 8 to discover or rediscover the joys of angling," said Keith Colwell, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, in a media release "It's a great opportunity for families to spend time together."
Although a licence is not required on free sport fishing weekend, all bag limits and other regulations still apply. Regulations and more information on sport fishing in Nova Scotia can be found here.
