Early bird tickets are now on sale for the Shelburne Kayak Festival.
Even more great events have been added to the growing festival.
The Kayak Festival is based at Island Park, its newest group camping sites will be a perfect fit to the festival said Sheila Bird, one of the volunteers for the event.
“There couldn’t be a better location than Island Park,” she said. While at the park they have many activities planned including a mix of fun and learning.
There will be clinics for both the advanced and beginner kayaker including rescue workshops.
The guided tour will be an all day event to McNutt’s Island.
“There is so much visual appeal,” said Bird. “Kayaking in the harbour.”
There will also be some instructive courses on nature photography and tours throughout town for the Experience Shelburne portion of the weekend, a draw for tourists.
“The festival has such a great atmosphere,” said Bird. “We have lots of fun.”
The evenings will have various music events at the park as well.
The festival is held Aug 15 to 17 and the early bird rate of $75 will be until June 15 after the regular rate is $90.
“All ages and level of skill are encouraged to register,” said Bird.
