A Port Williams girl has won a national art contest.

Lucy Wilkie has been selected to represent Canada in the 2014 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest!

The contest, in its second year, encourages children to imagine their dream car and draw what that car might look like.

From the selection of entries, the judging panel for this year’s contest selected nine submissions to represent Canada in the global competition. The work of the Canadian finalists will now be judged against the top entries of more than 70 countries, with a select group of world contest finalists to be chosen. Winners of the top 30 global entries will be invited to participate in an all-expenses paid awards ceremony held in Japan in August.

Wilkie won in the ages 12 to 15 category with her “Exploring Everywhere With Toyota” Car, described  as a “dream car … for exploration. A car that could take you through any environment and withstand any element. With this car, [you] could explore not only our planet, but the entire universe."

Wilkie will be awarded with a prize from Toyota Canada at local ceremony Friday at Best Toyota in Kentville.

Loved Lucy's art work, very imaginative and extremely well done. As I am her grandmother, I am slightly biased !
