Northeast Kings students take music on the road

Members of the Northeast Kings Education Centre hit the road recently for a trip to Boston and New York City.

Students Lauren Sweet and Vanessa Hutchinson, who both play the clarinet, Matt Montgomery, who plays the Bari sax, and Mark Parker, who plays the trombone, shared their thoughts about the trip.

What was your favourite thing that you did in Boston?

Lauren: The Berkley School of Jazz

Vanessa: Seeing the Blue Man Group

Mark: The Fire and Ice restaurant. They cooked your food right in front of you and it was good.

Matt: The Blue Man Group

What was the best thing you did in New York City?

Lauren: The top of the Rockefeller center.

Vanessa: The Lion King on Broadway.

Mark: The Lion King Broadway show.

Matt: The Lion King.

What was the overall highlight of the trip?

Lauren: The overall highlight for me was being able to hang out with the grads in our last year of band together.

Vanessa: Mine would be the feeling of becoming a family by the end of the trip.

Mark: The Rockefeller Center. It had a nice view.

Matt: The road trip.
