Lorraine McQueen is no longer president of the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre (HMCC) board.
McQueen resigned during a board meeting April 3 for health-related reasons.
“I resigned as both a director and president but I still am very interested in the work of the board and will help any way I can,” she said.
McQueen served as the president of the board since October 2012. In that time, she says the board focused on creating a new policy and procedures manual and exploring future uses for the Red Barn and Churchill House.
“I think we put in place a good framework for the future but there is still lots to be done,” she said.
McQueen says she hopes more people will take an interest in the HMCC property, and Churchill House in particular.
“The board is making a significant investment in an upgrade of the kitchen and we look forward to more community use of Churchill House in the future.”
Angela Pelton will act as interim president until the group’s next annual general meeting. HMCC typically hosts AGMs in October.
