There will be 21 teams vying for first place for the best chili in Shelburne County this weekend.
On Saturday, March 22 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. will mark the first year for the Chili Cook-off to be held at the Shelburne Community Centre.
Tickets are $5 and include chili, water and a roll.
“We are hoping to sell a lot of tickets,” said Cpl. Darren Stevens, organizer of the event.
All the proceeds will go to support Our House Youth Wellness Centre and if the event is popular enough will continue next year.
“Every dollar we make will be good,” Cpl. Stevens said. “But it would be great to get a lot of people.”
The winning team will get bragging rights as well as a trophy.
