One woman’s fondness for fashionable treasures discovered at Frenchys will be benefitting the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation through a unique fundraiser at the Rodd Grand Hotel on April 5.
Dr. Cindy Boudreau has been collecting fancy dresses, purses and wraps from the popular chain of used clothing stores for several months. Some of her finds will be modeled in a Frenchy fashion show then sold by auction and direct sale at a brunch event (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the Rodd Grand Hotel. Tickets are $20 and a portion of the entrance fee will be donated, in addition to money raised through the auction and sale of the clothing, to the foundation.
The April 5 event is in advance of the foundation’s Spring Gala on Saturday, April 26.
“I’m hoping that people will buy some for the gala,” said Boudreau, who says most of the clothes she wears come from Frenchys.
She’s dug up haute couture for others in the past.
“I’d see these dresses that were so stunning, I’d snap pictures of them and email them to my friends,” she said.
Included amongst the Jones of New York, Dior and Liz Clairborne styles are several work dresses, men’s pants and children’s fashions. Adult sizes range from 0 to 24.
Some of the dresses have received minor accessorizing in the shape of brooches or buttons.
She says she’s had fun collecting the dozens of items.
“There are some that don’t appeal to me but on the right person they may look great.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased from the Yarmouth Dental Group at 615 Main St. or the foundation office at the Yarmouth Hospital.
