RCMP officers from both Barrington and Shelburne detachments were called to the scene of an out of control party in Clyde River shortly after 1 a.m. on June 24.

More than 200 people including high school students were in attendance at the party, which coincided with the BMHS prom.

The Barrington RCMP was initially called to the scene as the result of a complaint of an assault at a residence on the 103 Highway in Clyde River.

When police arrived beer bottles were thrown at the police cruiser and a fire started on the highway.

With back up from both detachments and the cooperation of the homeowner, the party was shut down and the revelers moved along.

One male was taken into custody and later transported by ambulance to Roseway Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

The Barrington Detachment is investigating the incident to determine if charges will be laid.
