RCMP and the Windsor Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision today, June 5, which occurred on Wentworth Rd nears Sweets Corner at approximately 5:40 pm. The lone male occupant of a black Saturn Echo was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries. According to Windsor RCMP officer Constable Billy Gossen, the driver was traveling toward Brooklyn when the collision occurred with an oncomming red Sebring sedan.

The female driver of the sedan reportedly suffered only minor injuries and was able to give police an account of the incident, while a female passenger was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services and later airlifted to a Halifax.

Both drivers and passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The cause of the accident is still unknown and the matter continues to be investigated. RCMP traffic services were on the scene and will release further details as they become available.
