Queens County man convicted of fraud through eBay

On Nov. 18, Richard Allan Mansfield appeared in Liverpool Provincial Court and entered a guilty plea to one count of Fraud through an eBay transaction; a second fraud charge was withdrawn.

Mansfield received a conditional sentence of five months (house arrest) followed by one year of probation. Mansfield was also ordered by the courts to pay back all $4,100 (US funds) that he defrauded from the US citizen.

Anyone committing fraud or any illegal scams over the internet can be charged with a criminal offence.
