RCMP officers conducting the investigation of the homicide Leslie Ann Conrad of Lower Wolfville have indicated that, with the assistance of forensic science, they have been able to establish that the human remains of Conrad were placed in the shallow grave, at a location off Robinson Corner in Melanson, within 24 hours of her last reported sighting.

Conrad’s remains were discovered several weeks after her last reported sighting. Investigators hope to determine if any suspicious vehicles and or persons may have been seen in the Melanson Mountain Road area on the afternoon or evening of Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, or during the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 6, 2006.

Meanwhile, Nova Scotia's Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program announced Nov. 21 that the Department of Justice will offer cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible Conrad’s homicide.

Conrad was reported missing by her brother Oct. 6, 2006. Nov. 22, a hunter located human remains that were subsequently determined to be those of Conrad.
