Between Sunday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, Hants
County RCMP were busy, responding to 92 calls during the week.
Among these calls, 10 were dangerous driving
complaints; eight calls regarded traffic collisions, two of which involved deer; five complaints concerned mischief involving damage costing less than $5,000 to property; three reporting theft of property valued at less than $5,000; two impaired driving complaints; four calls under the Family Relations Act; two reports of uttering threats; one complaint involving arson; four calls under the Wildlife Act; and two under the Mental Health Act.
In addition, members attended 13 false 911 calls, and found that in most instances, the calls were made by citizens trying to contact directory assistance. There were also five false calls pertaining to residents or businesses.
Hants County RCMP are also investigating a number of notable offences and anyone with information on those person(s) responsible are asked to contact Windsor RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
At approximately 6:15 p.m., oct. 26, on the Beaverpond Road, Centreville, Hants County, Windsor RCMP and the Summerville Fire Department responded to a fire that was set by an unidentified white male described as
being 20 to 30 years old and wearing dark clothes.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. Oct. 31, a person or persons unknown slashed the tire of a car that was parked at McLean’s PetroCan.
Sometime between 7 p.m. Nov. 1 and the early morning hours of Nov. 2nd, 2008, a person or persons unknown threw two large rocks through two windows of Anthony’s Esso Station, Highway 354, Kennetcook.
Sometime between Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, a person or persons unknown stole a motion activated digital camera from Elliott Road, South Rawdon.
Cst. Andy Harris noted that “calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on this tip, callers qualify for a cash award from $50 to $2,000. Tipsters can submit secure tips online… www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.”

Between Sunday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 22nd, 2008 Windsor Town RCMP also experienced a brisk week, responding to 52 calls.
Among the calls received, one was in response to a theft of property valued at less than $5,000; two complaints regarded breaches of undertakings; and one concerned a disturbance of the peace.
Other incidents ranged from suspicious persons; one call concerning uttering threats; three reports of mischief involving damage to property under $5,000; five moving traffic complaints; two reports involving the Controlled Drugs Substances Act (CDSA); two reports of impaired driving; two calls under the Family Relations Act; and one call under the Mental Health Act.
Windsor Town RCMP are also investigating the noted offences listed, and anyone with information on those person(s) responsible are asked to contact the Windsor RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS);
Sometime between the night of Oct. 28 and the morning of Oct. 29, 2008, a person or persons unknown damaged a fence at 265 Albert Street, Windsor.
Sometime between the night of Oct. 28 and the morning of Oct. 30, 2008, a person or persons unknown broke the railings off from the gazebo next to the tourist bureau, 31 Colonial Road, Windsor.
