Authorities in Kings County were alerted to a diving accident near Hall’s Harbour Nov. 1. The complainant reported two friends had not surfaced.

Three fire departments, police, EHS and search and rescue volunteers were all alerted before it was determined the call was a hoax.

RCMP Sgt. Mike Holland says the call was very serious and police know from which phone the call came from. The investigation is continuing.
