Threats, break-ins, burned truck reported

The Annapolis detachment of the RCMP had a busy week, responding to 103 calls for assistance during the week of August 4 through August 11.

Among these were 11 false 911s, five false alarms, three motor vehicle accidents, and two domestic matters. Following are highlights of these calls: (Note: due to the sensitive nature of complaints involving sexual assault, domestic violence, children’s welfare and mental health, not all calls are considered appropriate for publication) -- August 4 at 1:50 p.m. A caller reported two bicycles stolen from Parkers Cove. -- August 4 at 8:13 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of property damage in Middleton, after an individual threw a cellphone through the windshield of a truck. -- August 5 at 00:05 a.m. A caller reported that a group of youths was setting off fireworks in Clementsvale. -- August 5 at 2 a.m. A caller reported a complaint of property damage in Clementsvale. Two males were arrested in the vicinity of the wharf. -- August 5 at 10:21 a.m. A Lequille business reported a break and enter. A gumball machine was taken. -- August 5 at 1:59 p.m. A Break and enter was reported in Granville Ferry. The matter remains under investigation. -- August 5 at 6:32 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of criminal harassment in Margaretsville. -- August 5 at 8:34 p.m. A caller reported a complaint of assault in Upper Clements. One person was arrested and later released. -- August 6 at 7:54 p.m. An attempted break and enter into a vehicle was reported in Middleton. Nothing appears to have been taken but the vehicle was ransacked. -- August 7 at 11:34 p.m. A Meadowvale caller reported a complaint of uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. -- August 7 at 5 p.m. A caller reported seeing a suspicious person in the woods in West Paradise. A police dog and patrol was dispatched and deemed the complaint was unfounded. -- August 7 at 10:32 p.m. A caller reported that an intoxicated youth jumped in front of a vehicle in Bridgetown. A patrol was dispatched but failed to locate the youth. -- August 8 at 8:18 p.m. A caller reported illegal dumping in several locations in Paradise. -- August 8 at 9:49 p.m. A caller reported seeing an impaired driver in Wilmot. A patrol was made but failed to locate the vehicle. -- August 9 at 8:05 p.m. A caller reported that a truck had been stolen from West Dalhousie. The 2007 Ford Ranger was later found burned on the Perrot Road. -- August 9 at 2:35 p.m. A caller reported being threatened in Clementsvale. -- August 9 at 4:59 p.m. A caller reported being threatened in Margaretsville. -- August 9 at 6:33 p.m. A caller reported seeing an impaired driver earlier in Middleton. A patrol was dispatched, but failed to locate the vehicle. -- August 9 at 10:08 p.m. Police were called to Nictaux Falls after a caller reported hearing squealing tires and engines being revved-up. The driver was later located and arrested for dangerous driving. -- August 9 at 11:30 p.m. Police were called twice to a noisy party in Middleton. -- August 10 at 10:09 a.m. Police were called to an accident on the 101 Highway near exit 18 after a tractor-trailer driver lost control and the vehicle overturned and blocked traffic. -- August 10 at 1:26 p.m. A Caller reported an ATV stolen from a Middleton barn. -- August 10 at 4:28 p.m. A Carlton Corner resident reported an assault. -- August 11 at 8:01 a.m. A Middleton business reported a quantity of copper stolen.
