The Annapolis detachment of the RCMP responded to 70 calls for assistance during the week of May 26 through June 2. Among these were eight false 911s, three false alarms, 13 traffic matters and 13 domestic calls.
Following are highlights of these calls:

-- May 26 at 12:01 p.m. Police were called to Nictaux to deal with an upset and out-of-control individual. The person was left with a friend and calm was restored.
-- May 26 at 1:02 p.m. Police were called to Wilmot to investigate a break and enter into a residence. A Playstation, games and movies were stolen. The matter remains under investigation.
-- May 26 at 2:03 p.m. Police were called to Granville Ferry after a motorist struck a deer. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle sustained damage.
-- May 26 at 2:40 p.m. Police were called to a disturbance in Port Wade. The matter remains under investigation. Charges are possible.
-- May 26 at 3:32 p.m. A vehicle check on Highway 1 in Wilmot resulted in a driver being charged under the Liquor Control Act, and with operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
-- May 27 at 00:42 a.m. Police, Ground Search and Rescue, and Air Search and Rescue were called to Kejimkujik National Park to search for two fishermen who had not returned. Both were located by helicopter the following day, walking along an old trail. The police wish to thank all parties involved in the search.
-- May 27 at 9:40 p.m. A vehicle check in Wilmot resulted in a driver facing charges of driving while disqualified.
-- May 27 at 10:24 a.m. A Middleton caller reported a suspicious vehicle that was illegally parked. A patrol was made, but the vehicle was gone.
-- May 27 at 11:30 a.m. A report of property damage in Nictaux resulted in two youth being dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
-- May 27 at 2:28 p.m. A Middleton business reported that an individual had taken a money jar that was raising money for charity. The matter is under investigation.
-- May 27 at 2:23 p.m. A Nictaux resident reported that a small generator had been stolen. Police suspect that the driver of a small car in the area may be responsible. The investigation continues.
-- May 28 at 7:16 a.m. Police were called to a single vehicle accident on Highway 1 near Upper Granville after a driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the ditch. EHS and members of the Bridgetown and Area Fire Department responded. Minor injuries were reported.
-- May 28 at 5:07 p.m. Police were called to a disturbance in Granville Ferry after a dispute broke out over property.
-- May 28 at 6:27 p.m. Patrols were dispatched to search for a transport truck along the Highway 101 near Middleton after a caller reported a complaint of erratic driving.
-- May 28 at 9:49 p.m. Police were called to Highway 201 near Tupperville after a motorist collided with a deer. No injuries were reported, although the vehicle sustained considerable damage.
-- May 29 at 00:13 a.m. Police were called to a disturbance at a Middleton apartment after individuals were playing loud music.
-- May 29 at 12:57 p.m. A report of erratic driving in Middleton resulted in the suspect receiving a surprise visit from police. The matter was dealt with appropriately.
-- May 29 at 5:52 p.m. A report of erratic driving resulted in a driver being stopped in Bridgetown and the matter was dealt with accordingly.
-- May 29 at 6:20 p.m. A report of a suspicious person in Belleisle was found to be a person waiting for a Kings Transit bus.
-- May 29 at 8:25 p.m. Police attended a noise complaint at a Middleton apartment.
-- May 30 at 7:22 a.m. Police were called to Highway 101 near Middleton after a motorist was reported for erratic driving. The driver was returning home after a night shift.
-- May 30 at 8:26 p.m. Police received a report of two males fighting in a Middleton parking lot. An immediate patrol was made, but the combatants had fled. Police suspect that the individuals were settling grievances.
-- May 31 at 6:30 a.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 1 near Clementsport after a motorist went off the road in an attempt to avoid a herd of deer. The vehicle sustained heavy damage, but no injuries were reported.
-- May 31 at 10:10 a.m. Police were called to a motor vehicle accident along the 101 Highway near Bridgetown, after a motorist struck a deer.
-- June 1 at 1:51 p.m. The Bridgetown fire department and RCMP were called to West Dalhousie in response to a fire at a cottage. The cause of the fire is deemed to be a lightening strike.
-- June 2 at 5:33 a.m. Police received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 1 near Wilmot. A patrol was made, but failed to intercept.
