No license, inspection sticker

Judge Claudine MacDonald found Cambridge resident Sean Jason Napier guilty March 26 of driving without a license, and fined him $150 plus a $22.50 victim surcharge and $107 in costs.

Napier pleaded guilty also to driving a vehicle that didn’t have a valid inspection sticker, and MacDonald fined him an additional $50 plus a $7.50 victim surcharge and $107 in costs. Both charges are under the MVA.

Napier committed the offenses in Steam Mill Aug. 4 and 5.

Granted conditional discharge

Judge Tufts granted a conditional discharge to Dartmouth resident Sarah Dawn Gray, 21, on a charge of possession of an imitation weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public.

The discharge is pending 12 months’ reporting probation and completion of 75 hours of community service.

Probationary conditions include taking any recommended assessment, counselling or treatment; having no contact with a specific person; not attending that person’s residence; and a ban on possessing firearms.

The charge resulted from an incident in New Minas Dec. 10, 2007. Gray pleaded guilty to the charge March 26.

Convicted automatically

Judge MacDonald convicted automatically Grand-Pre resident Michael W. Nicholson, 23, of displaying a license plate issued to another vehicle, contrary to the MVA, and fined him $50 plus a $7.50 victim surcharge and $107 in costs.

Nicholson had pleaded not guilty to the charge Dec. 10 and the Crown successfully requested an adjournment Feb. 20 to March 26 for trial. Nicholson failed to attend the trial.

Police laid the charge in New Minas Aug. 12.
